Great Pyrenees Rescue Information: The Great Pyrenees is a huge, fluffy herding dog. Independent and protective, the Great Pyrenees is devoted to its family and somewhat stubborn. Great Pyrenees need to be socialized with children as puppies. This breed is an imposing guardian but is gentle unless threatened or provoked. Great Pyrenees need large yards and are best suited to cold climates. Great Pyrenees are affectionate toward non-canine pets, especially cats!

Great Pyrenees Trivia: The Great Pyrenees was the official dog of the French Royal Court. The Great Pyrenees probably originated in ancient times in Siberia or Asia.
