Casper is on his way to 20 acre farm and we are praying he loves his new owner and her dog. It breaks our heart that we are not physically able to take care of him anymore. She said she would call and let us know how he is adapting to his new home. Thank you Rescue Me for helping us find his new home in the country.

I think Yeti has found his forever home. He was adopted by a wonderful couple with a huge farm. He will have two other Great Pyrenees brothers to play with! His new home is like doggy heaven. All the meaty bones he wants and even an air conditioned room built onto the house with a doggy door just for them. In rescue work, this is a dream come true for a deserving dog that's had a rough start in life. I so hope & pray it works out for him! Thank you Rescue Me and to his new owners for another happy home for a rescue dog!

I had been receiving alerts from Rescue Me for several months hoping to find the perfect Great Pyr for my house and my 11 year old Great Pyr. The synchronicities that surrounded this adoption were over the top and too numerous to list here. It was amazing for both the re-homing family and myself. I will share the most striking one: As I was praying about this dog I noted that I didn't want to call my dog Goliath. I heard the still small voice of God say 'Call him Peanut.' I said 'I don't like the name Peanut, I never use that name, I use sweetpea for an endearing name.' The reply came 'Call him Peanut.'So when Melody and the girls came with Goliath I said 'Hello, Peanut' A few minutes later Melody told me that when they first brought him home they called him Peanut. Of course when we signed the papers and all was settled it was hard for Melody and the girls. We were standing in the dining room, all us tearing up because of the incredible 'co-winky-dinks' and the fact that they were having to re-home. At that point Peanut came over and laid on my feet. It was a signal that he understood and was okay. Great Pyrs are amazing! Peanut is an absolute doll and there is no doubt he found his forever home. Thank you Rescue Me!

Rescue Me helped me find homes for three of the Great Pyrenees puppies I rescued. I had Bob for three months and a lot of people were interested in him, but he needed a home where he would be inside with the family and part of everything that they were doing. He went home on Saturday and they love him! He's doing great too! Thanks!

Thank you, Jeff and Rescue Me! Bear was adopted today, thank you. He was only on your site for less than two hours before I connected with his new forever home. I was familiar with the site because we adopted our Saint Bernard five years ago, Butch, from the site. Quick back story, is that I heard about a family taking Bear, Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard, to the Humane Society (nine months old and 100 pounds was a little big for them). I drove over and adopted him from that family to ensure he could find a forever home with this website. I found the site very easy to use to post and the immediate response was overwhelming. I did follow up with each and every family that contacted me, letting them know Bear found a forever home. Thank you for having a vehicle like this to connect people and pets so wonderfully!!!

I had a lot of responses to my posting of little Kelly. She has found a great home with a long-time trainer of therapy dogs, who wanted to train a dog for her live-in companion who has balance problems. So, not only will Kelly be in a home with experienced dog folks, she will be one-on-one with a new mama. And have other dogs to play with! Thank you, Rescue Me!

You know how when you see something and it looks like a good fit. This six month old puppy has been just that. It was a quick process. The lovely family that had her communicated right away. They sent some pictures and a brief bio. Sharon and I were in the car the next day and off to see the nice people who had her. It did not take long. We were in the car in about an hour. And off to our farm we went. Of course a brief stop for a cheeseburger at Mickey D's was in store. Emma Likes cheeseburgers. And that became a trust to bonding issue. She is in her adjustment period. We have seven other dogs, five cats, show ponies, ducks (250) and poultry (1000 normally in brooders and in the out pens). So this is going to be a lengthy adjustment period. Right now she thinks her name is being changed to NO. I want to thank the Rutledge family for their great work and care in her development. Rescue Me is terribly important for those looking to bring a new working dog member into their household. There are more success stories out there to follow. -Nick.

I would like to give a very big thank you to Rescue Me for allowing me to post my dog Reba for free. Last week I received a phone call from a young lady that had fallen in love with Reba's picture. On Friday night, Charlotte and her family came to meet Reba, and it was an automatic match. We delivered Reba to her forever home on Saturday. Charlotte wanted to have time to go shopping before they took her. Charlotte bought her the biggest, bling, pink collar with a lead to match! She has a big new bed in Charlotte's room and tons of treats! We have continued to talk to Charlotte and her family anytime they have questions. Reba is loving her new home and we are so grateful that she has a forever home! Thank you so much!

Rescue Me was fantastic! When faced with the hard decision to rehome our sweet Pyrenees. We immediately starting receiving inquires the day we posted. The people who called were all seriously looking for this breed so knew the sweet, loving nature along with the drawbacks of such a big hairy dog. We spoke to some wonderful people and found ourselves with great options for a new home. It was heartwarming to know there are such good people looking on this site to offer assistance and loving homes. Thank you, Jeff Gold, for this site.

I absolutely adore Cappy. He is beautiful and sweet. Everyone was very helpful when going to adopt him and I am so very happy to have him apart of our family. He is very shy right now but with love and attention, I am sure he will grow into a wonderful and beautiful adult dog. I am so excited to see him grow, he absolutely loved cuddling and scratching around his ears. I don't know how you could not have fallen in love with this little guy because he is absolutely perfect. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Thanks to Rescue Me, Toby found an excellent new home, and humans, with a young military couple. They saw him on Rescue Me, and his adorable, mischievous face caught their attention. They put off contacting me for a while. Every time they went back to check your site they thought he would be gone, but there he was, still waiting for them. You could tell there was an instant connection between them when they met. When we rescue a dog off the street (as we did with Toby) it is always such a risk that we will not be able to find a good home for them. Toby was a very 'special' rescue because of his magnanimous personality. He is quite the charmer... We fell in love with him. Any new home for him had to be a GREAT home and a GREAT home is what he found in this wonderful young couple. Toby was their first 'child' to bring into their family and what a perfect match. The end result, his rescue ended up being just the best I could've ever hoped for. This is what makes the difficulties of rescuing a dog worth it all. Toby will be loved and well cared for all the rest of his life. What could be better!

We live on a farm and adopted two Great Pyrenees through Rescue Me. The dogs were being trained to work as livestock guardians. However, after three weeks of training, Ivory displayed a great need for human interaction and it was evident that she was not cut out for work. I immediately put her on the Rescue Me site to help her find a home where she could be a pet. I immediately received a call from a family who wanted to meet Ivory. When they met they fell in love on the spot! Ivory is now in a home as a pet and I am very grateful for the Rescue Me services.

Thank you, Rescue Me. Ricky was adopted today. We asked for a $50.00 donation. It was a very good experience and learned a lot from it. We 'interviewed' all the potential adopters and turned down several if we felt it didn't meet our expectations. We wanted our dog to be adopted by a family who would take him as a family dog, indoors, as part of the family. We asked for home pictures, we asked to visit their place, asked them if they had other dogs, etc. We were patient and after about two to three weeks we found the right family. Be patients and asks a lot of questions.

Jack is a Great Pyrenees and St. Bernard mix. He's approximately 145 pounds and we think about four years old. He was rescued from an oil field last year where he was found abandoned by a previous owner. He was never taken to a rescue, but brought to us to take care of by family members. We have taken care of him over the last year and would have loved to keep him forever, but we've decided it's time to find Jack his forever family. We are moving to a smaller house this spring and Jack was never planned to be an adoption. We have three of our own plus fosters from time to time. We found Jack a wonderful family on a horse farm that knows how to treat animals and dogs. They love him very much and it was a great success! Thank you, Rescue Me.

We have been long time owners of Great Pyrenees. We have a poultry farm with ducks, geese and horses. Our working friends have always been our live stocks best friends. The love we have for them is untold. To have a baby foal lay with its head on the side of one our white angels is really special. Or have one of them bring you a baby chick in their mouth because they found them outside of where they were supposed to be. This is the life of herd protector or flock protector as this case. We lost our loved Female FiFi just four months ago. She was 10, through the grace of God he took her one day. So we began to look into the rescue programs. Figured it was a much better calling to save one then go to a breeder and go through that process. I joined Rescue Me. Asked to be emailed if one became available. And low and behold two days later there was Bear. We contacted the Mercers and set up a dialogue. I expressed more than just legitimate interest. I expressed that fact we could give this dog the life he was born to have. Freedom of movement. Sharing a life with others both animal and human. We set a time and the very next day. We were on our way to pick him up. I am happy to say. He is working into the farm environment here. He has looked ducks, roosters, hens, geese, goats, and baby chicks in the eye. His natural instincts are pouring out. Confusing at first. But accepting as well. He has made contact with our horses. He has made contact with five of our six dogs. The full male G.P., we have will take some careful time to introduce. They are doing well at this point. And we should have complete success her shortly. Bear has over 20 acres to deal with. So exercise is constant. I want to thank the Mercers for being just great and caring people for this young dog at the time he most needed it. All we are doing is taking him to the next stage of his career. Thanks to the Rescue Me blog and your agency. -Ronald L. Nickerson USJD. Ret.

Thank you so much for your Rescue Me website! I had taken in a lovely lost Great Pyrenees and hoped to keep him, but with my two other dogs, a busy job and a horse it was proving to be just too much! I knew 'Pyrenees Pete' needed a home that understood the needs of Pyrenees mountain dogs if possible and I made a listing on your site and heard from two different Pyrenees experienced families within 24 hours! The Hammits came down and met Pete and took him home in their large dog outfitted car (complete with ramp!) to his new home! They sent pictures and told me about his successful settling in process. I am so pleased! Thanks again!

He took to his job of guarding instantly and this evening was already getting along with our tiny pullets. The term gentle giant is appropriate for him. We are so happy to have met his previous owners and build a relationship with them as well. We all have Luther's best interest at heart and I know that in the coming years he will serve us well and live out the rest of his days peacefully and well on our farm.      I volunteered for four and one half years with a nonprofit animal rescue group every Saturday for up to 12 hours. We are elated to have the space that such a large breed requires at our abode. Jupiter is a gem. His transformation from country home to suburbia has been so much of a shock. While watching a motorcycle go by or people skateboarding or riding bikes, he never barks... just watches in awe. He is well mannered and has made friends with a four pound Japanese Chin. What a huge contrast in sizes! Jupiter rolled over on his back, surrendering to the tiny dog. All you need is love! Rescue Me is a blessing, giving hope coast to coast for all involved. One Husky's owner found his lost dog, which I had posted on this site. Namaste, Jeff!! Debbie and Doug

I lost three Great Pyrenees last year, one to bone cancer and two to old age. When I saw this listing, and realized they were so close to me, I e-mailed the owner. She was happy that they were going together and will be on a 15-acre farm in the country. Her daughter was unhappy, but I tried to explain that they would be loved, well cared for, and she could come visit them any time. These two pups are just sweet and are working in with the two older dogs I have, after a few growls and fusses from the older ones. It will take time, but I was delighted to have the opportunity to give these two lovely pups a home and they will fill the empty space in my heart as the male looks just like my old boy from long ago. Thank you for Rescue Me! I tell everyone I can about it. I got one of my girls from it years ago and that was a success story. I wish people would quit breeding them. They are special dogs that need special circumstances, and being 'house' dogs just does not fit this breed profile. There are too many out there already to add to the problem.

Rescue Me! helped me find a very loving family for our precious Levi. I knew immediately when I saw his new owners, and how they reacted to him, that I had made the right decision. We miss him but I know he is getting everything that he deserves with his new family!!!! Wonderful website. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I very quickly received calls from half a dozen sincere and nice people who were interested in the puppies. Rescue Me! gets awesome responses! I ended up working with 'Big Dog Rescue Project' who helps re-home dogs to New England where there are fewer adoptable pets and thought these dogs would be happier in a colder climate. Thanks for the website!

Hi Jeff, Sara has been adopted. We were very successful in finding Sara a good new home. I created her posting on a Sunday, we received a few calls by that Thursday, and she went to her new home that Saturday. The Rescue Me! site really helped us, and we feel really good knowing that she went with good people. Thanks so much! Shelbie Traylor

We have been looking for a Great Pyrenees to be with our Great Pyrenees/Komondor pup as well as be able to be in with our goats. Rose was in with a small herd of goats, but also socialized to other animals, adults and children. She seems like she will be a good fit for us. She will have her run of an acre of fenced yard as well as several acres of the goat pens. This is our first night with her as we drove a little over three hours, spent several hours with her and her family and just got home. Tomorrow will be an even bigger day as she finds out all our farm has to offer and we work on retraining her with a new herd and a new family. Rose's family were wonderful people that were trying to do what was best for her since they were selling off their herd. Without the Rescue Me! notifications, I would've never known she needed a home, and an incredible dog could have been unnecessarily euthanized, as I understand livestock guardian dogs type can be harder to place. A special thanks to Jeff for this great site and making it available to people like me that need a little more Pyrenees love.

Rescue Me! helped us find a good new home for Sara, our 3-year old Great Pyrenees. I posted her picture and information on a Sunday, and Sara went to her new home with her new family that following Saturday. I had no idea it would be so quick finding a good home for her, but she was very excited, and eager when they arrived to pick her up. We are very grateful for rescues and organizations like Rescue Me! that help in finding good homes for these wonderful dogs! Thank you so much!

I listed Lazy Blaze, a 10 month old Great Pyrenees, on the Rescue Me! website for a friend. I immediately starting receiving emails from interested families wanting to give him a loving home. After much deliberation and interviewing all the potential adopters, Lazy Blaze is going to a wonderful family in Iowa that is familiar with the breed. Gail is very relieved knowing her baby will be happy. Thank you for the service, Rescue Me!

My husband rescued Miss Molly on on June 7, 2013. She stayed with us as we worked through her medical issues. We had so many people interested in adopting her from Rescue Me!!! Eric and I made a list of all the requirements that needed to be met before we would re-home her: a loving family, other pets to play with, and most importantly, a fenced in backyard. As Molly grew stronger we watched as she ran after Rosie, our 3-year old Golden Retriever. We watched as she would steal Rosie's toy from her and then Rosie stealing it back. We saw how Casandra, our 10-year old Golden, enjoyed Molly's energy. We were amazed by her resilience and then all of a sudden BAM!!! It hit me. The perfect home for Molly is right where she is.

The responses for Ollie were amazing, and it is great to know that there are so many people out there with tremendous love for animals in need, and the desire to actually step up to the plate and make something good happen. Our Ollie was rehomed today thanks to Rescue Me! and a family willing to make Ollie a part of theirs.

Rescue Me! was a Godsend in re-homing our wonderful, Bubbie. It was with extremely heavy hearts that we had to come to the decision to re-home her and MANY tears were shed both in the decision process, and when the new owner called to say she had arrived in town and would be at our house in the morning! I literally hung up and sobbed uncontrollably - reality had hit! But in my heart, I knew this was the right thing. Connie, the new owner, was the first to contact us and we had many telephone and email conversations. She is a dog groomer, dog lover and just an amazing person over-all... Connie drove 8 hours, with her mother, to pick up Bubbie. She rented a car and even got a hotel close to our home. That, in and of itself, speaks volumes as to the desire to have Bubbie come into their lives. Thank you so much again for your wonderful service. I will recommend it to anyone facing the same, difficult decision!!!

After Pearl had been spayed, her temperament changed drastically. She became a perfectly well adjusted working dog. She is still with me and I have been consistently working with her as a Service Dog and she is now one of the best I have ever seen. Spaying was the key to treating her aggressive nature and tempering that with love and patience, she is never going to have to go anywhere but right here with me.

Thank you, Rescue Me! My father recently passed away from a very long fight with cancer. His beloved Great Pyrenees Thor was left behind. I was helping to settle my father's affairs but only had a short time before I had to go back to my home state. In desperation to find a home for Thor I turned to Rescue Me! and was very pleased to have so many inquires. Long story short we were able to locate a home for Thor in short order and he is very happy with his new family.

I had Bear since he was six weeks old. He is a member of my family. He started getting aggressive toward kids recently. I'm a daycare provider which was an uncomfortable situation for him. He would growl and snap at the kids. We decided it would be best to place him in a home with no kids. The day I placed an ad on Rescue Me! a very nice man contacted me about Bear. After talking we decided Bear would be a great addition to his family. I sent him all the pictures I had of Bear. He lives 3.5 hours away so we arranged for him, his wife, and 18 year old son to pick up Bear today. After meeting him and his family we knew that they would love Bear as much as we do. I could tell Bear really likes his new family. It broke our hearts to see him go but it made it easier knowing he was going to such a nice loving family.

Blondie and her brother Homer showed up as strays at my gate on Christmas Eve 2011. After numerous and varied attempts to find her owner, it became pretty apparent they were dumped. I made some attempts to rehome them afterward, but had no success. So I decided to give them a home. Unfortunately, and for unknown reasons, they started fighting with my most senior dog who is my primary concern. So in the best interest of the pack, I decided to find them new homes. I only became aware of www.RescueMe.org a couple of weeks ago when I posted them for adoption. I had three people to contact me about her right away. She was adopted to a near perfect environment where she will have acres to roam with her new buddy Murphy, and a new family who seems to love dogs as much as I do. Thank you so much for adopting her, Margaret and family. And many, many, many thanks to www.RescueMe.org who brought everyone together. (By the way, her brother Homer is still looking for a great forever home and is listed in the Kentucky Great Pyrenees section!)

I want to thank the creators of this website! It gave me a place to 'post' a found dog, in an attempt to find a previous owner. And when no owner was identified, it gave me lots of options to place this wonderful pup in a permanent home. We even considered keeping her ourselves she was so terrific! But she really needed to be outside and have a job, once she got her strength back! I had never met a Pyrenees before and I think we may be looking for one in the future. What a terrific temperament! This is an incredibly valuable website. It gave 'our' dog the best chance at a happy and fulfilling life. What a gift! Thank you.

I was heartbroken at the need to find a new home for my most special and beautiful girl, Bailey. I had her since she was a puppy, on my little farm in TN but sadly, life gets in the way of plans, and found myself having to give up the farm and move to the city. Bailey deserves way more than that. So I reached out to you fine folks at RescueMe !! She was well taken care of and happy, so she was better off than those sweet dogs you rescue from puppy mills and those that are dumped, but you treated Bailey's need for a home with just as much importance. I placed an ad for her to find new parents. Time went on, and I was concerned because I had very high mandates and expectations, and many people called me fitting some, but not all, and I thought I might have to lower my expectations. But I could NOT, for Bailey's sake. So, on my Birthday, the very day canceled transport for her, I got a call from her new mom and dad. Barb and Greg are everything I could have hoped for Bailey. They have always rescued dogs, and most recently had another greatly loved Great Pyr 'Poppy.' I wept and hugged Bailey for days, and worried about her the whole trip, but I got the tearful call this morning. Bailey had arrived in her new home state of Vermont. Mom and Dad were there, dog treats in hand, and they were greeted by a big wet kiss from Bailey. She is on their property now, safe and forever loved. Bailey and I , and Barb and Greg are so thankful that RescueMe was able to work for all of us. I cannot thank you enough. I will be forever grateful. Rescue me will now be on my list for gift donations!! ThankyouThankyouThankyou!! Best Regards, Bailey and Shannon
