My Benue was adopted by a wonderful couple today with big hearts for big dogs. I traveled to them to make sure he would be happy in his new home. I was surprised so many people were interested from far away. Thank you for helping me find a loving family to place my Great Pyrenees.

I was amazed how quickly Rescue Me! works. I was helping an elderly gentlemen find homes for his three dogs that he was no longer able to care for. Ziva got adopted to her forever home right away, and the other two got there forever homes this week. Thank for for this wonderful service connecting dogs that need a new start with new families. You are awesome. Thank you, thank you!

I lost three Great Pyrenees last year, one to bone cancer and two to old age. When I saw this listing, and realized they were so close to me, I e-mailed the owner. She was happy that they were going together and will be on a 15-acre farm in the country. Her daughter was unhappy, but I tried to explain that they would be loved, well cared for, and she could come visit them any time. These two pups are just sweet and are working in with the two older dogs I have, after a few growls and fusses from the older ones. It will take time, but I was delighted to have the opportunity to give these two lovely pups a home and they will fill the empty space in my heart as the male looks just like my old boy from long ago. Thank you for Rescue Me! I tell everyone I can about it. I got one of my girls from it years ago and that was a success story. I wish people would quit breeding them. They are special dogs that need special circumstances, and being 'house' dogs just does not fit this breed profile. There are too many out there already to add to the problem.

I had Holly listed for only one day on Rescue Me! before people contacted me. She went to a good home today, and while we are very sad to see her go the couple that picked her up seemed so nice and are able to provide her a good home... herding sheep! I know she is going to love it there, and I can't wait to hear updates on her from them. Our family had a very hard decision to make letting her go, and Rescue Me! definitely made this process a lot easier knowing she went to a good place. Thank you so much for providing this type of service for people in unfortunate circumstances like we had!

We miss him but I know he is getting everything that he deserves with his new family!!!! Wonderful website. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I very quickly received calls from half a dozen sincere and nice people who were interested in the puppies. Rescue Me! gets awesome responses! I ended up working with 'Big Dog Rescue Project' who helps re-home dogs to New England where there are fewer adoptable pets and thought these dogs would be happier in a colder climate. Thanks for the website!

Hi Jeff, Sara has been adopted. We were very successful in finding Sara a good new home. I created her posting on a Sunday, we received a few calls by that Thursday, and she went to her new home that Saturday. The Rescue Me! site really helped us, and we feel really good knowing that she went with good people. Thanks so much! Shelbie Traylor

We have been looking for a Great Pyrenees to be with our Great Pyrenees/Komondor pup as well as be able to be in with our goats. Rose was in with a small herd of goats, but also socialized to other animals, adults and children. She seems like she will be a good fit for us. She will have her run of an acre of fenced yard as well as several acres of the goat pens. This is our first night with her as we drove a little over three hours, spent several hours with her and her family and just got home. Tomorrow will be an even bigger day as she finds out all our farm has to offer and we work on retraining her with a new herd and a new family. Rose's family were wonderful people that were trying to do what was best for her since they were selling off their herd. Without the Rescue Me! notifications, I would've never known she needed a home, and an incredible dog could have been unnecessarily euthanized, as I understand livestock guardian dogs type can be harder to place. A special thanks to Jeff for this great site and making it available to people like me that need a little more Pyrenees love.

Rescue Me! helped us find a good new home for Sara, our 3-year old Great Pyrenees. I posted her picture and information on a Sunday, and Sara went to her new home with her new family that following Saturday. I had no idea it would be so quick finding a good home for her, but she was very excited, and eager when they arrived to pick her up. We are very grateful for rescues and organizations like Rescue Me! that help in finding good homes for these wonderful dogs! Thank you so much!

I listed Lazy Blaze, a 10 month old Great Pyrenees, on the Rescue Me! website for a friend. I immediately starting receiving emails from interested families wanting to give him a loving home. After much deliberation and interviewing all the potential adopters, Lazy Blaze is going to a wonderful family in Iowa that is familiar with the breed. Gail is very relieved knowing her baby will be happy. Thank you for the service, Rescue Me!

My husband rescued Miss Molly on on June 7, 2013. She stayed with us as we worked through her medical issues. We had so many people interested in adopting her from Rescue Me!!! Eric and I made a list of all the requirements that needed to be met before we would re-home her: a loving family, other pets to play with, and most importantly, a fenced in backyard. As Molly grew stronger we watched as she ran after Rosie, our 3-year old Golden Retriever. We watched as she would steal Rosie's toy from her and then Rosie stealing it back. We saw how Casandra, our 10-year old Golden, enjoyed Molly's energy. We were amazed by her resilience and then all of a sudden BAM!!! It hit me. The perfect home for Molly is right where she is.

Our Ollie was rehomed today thanks to Rescue Me! and a family willing to make Ollie a part of theirs.

Rescue Me! was a Godsend in re-homing our wonderful, Bubbie. It was with extremely heavy hearts that we had to come to the decision to re-home her and MANY tears were shed both in the decision process, and when the new owner called to say she had arrived in town and would be at our house in the morning! I literally hung up and sobbed uncontrollably - reality had hit! But in my heart, I knew this was the right thing. Connie, the new owner, was the first to contact us and we had many telephone and email conversations. She is a dog groomer, dog lover and just an amazing person over-all... Connie drove 8 hours, with her mother, to pick up Bubbie. She rented a car and even got a hotel close to our home. That, in and of itself, speaks volumes as to the desire to have Bubbie come into their lives. Thank you so much again for your wonderful service. I will recommend it to anyone facing the same, difficult decision!!!

After Pearl had been spayed, her temperament changed drastically. She became a perfectly well adjusted working dog. She is still with me and I have been consistently working with her as a Service Dog and she is now one of the best I have ever seen. Spaying was the key to treating her aggressive nature and tempering that with love and patience, she is never going to have to go anywhere but right here with me.

Thank you, Rescue Me! My father recently passed away from a very long fight with cancer. His beloved Great Pyrenees Thor was left behind. I was helping to settle my father's affairs but only had a short time before I had to go back to my home state.      I had Bear since he was six weeks old. He is a member of my family. He started getting aggressive toward kids recently. I'm a daycare provider which was an uncomfortable situation for him. He would growl and snap at the kids. We decided it would be best to place him in a home with no kids. The day I placed an ad on Rescue Me! a very nice man contacted me about Bear. After talking we decided Bear would be a great addition to his family. I sent him all the pictures I had of Bear. He lives 3.5 hours away so we arranged for him, his wife, and 18 year old son to pick up Bear today. After meeting him and his family we knew that they would love Bear as much as we do. I could tell Bear really likes his new family. It broke our hearts to see him go but it made it easier knowing he was going to such a nice loving family.

Blondie and her brother Homer showed up as strays at my gate on Christmas Eve 2011. After numerous and varied attempts to find her owner, it became pretty apparent they were dumped. I made some attempts to rehome them afterward, but had no success. So I decided to give them a home. Unfortunately, and for unknown reasons, they started fighting with my most senior dog who is my primary concern. So in the best interest of the pack, I decided to find them new homes. I only became aware of www.RescueMe.org a couple of weeks ago when I posted them for adoption. I had three people to contact me about her right away. She was adopted to a near perfect environment where she will have acres to roam with her new buddy Murphy, and a new family who seems to love dogs as much as I do. Thank you so much for adopting her, Margaret and family. And many, many, many thanks to www.RescueMe.org who brought everyone together. (By the way, her brother Homer is still looking for a great forever home and is listed in the Kentucky Great Pyrenees section!)

I want to thank the creators of this website! It gave me a place to 'post' a found dog, in an attempt to find a previous owner. And when no owner was identified, it gave me lots of options to place this wonderful pup in a permanent home. We even considered keeping her ourselves she was so terrific! But she really needed to be outside and have a job, once she got her strength back! I had never met a Pyrenees before and I think we may be looking for one in the future. What a terrific temperament! This is an incredibly valuable website. It gave 'our' dog the best chance at a happy and fulfilling life. What a gift! Thank you.

I was heartbroken at the need to find a new home for my most special and beautiful girl, Bailey. I had her since she was a puppy, on my little farm in TN but sadly, life gets in the way of plans, and found myself having to give up the farm and move to the city. Bailey deserves way more than that. So I reached out to you fine folks at RescueMe !! She was well taken care of and happy, so she was better off than those sweet dogs you rescue from puppy mills and those that are dumped, but you treated Bailey's need for a home with just as much importance. I placed an ad for her to find new parents. Time went on, and I was concerned because I had very high mandates and expectations, and many people called me fitting some, but not all, and I thought I might have to lower my expectations. But I could NOT, for Bailey's sake. So, on my Birthday, the very day canceled transport for her, I got a call from her new mom and dad. Barb and Greg are everything I could have hoped for Bailey. They have always rescued dogs, and most recently had another greatly loved Great Pyr 'Poppy.' I wept and hugged Bailey for days, and worried about her the whole trip, but I got the tearful call this morning. Bailey had arrived in her new home state of Vermont. Mom and Dad were there, dog treats in hand, and they were greeted by a big wet kiss from Bailey. She is on their property now, safe and forever loved. Bailey and I , and Barb and Greg are so thankful that RescueMe was able to work for all of us. I cannot thank you enough. I will be forever grateful. Rescue me will now be on my list for gift donations!! ThankyouThankyouThankyou!! Best Regards, Bailey and Shannon

Jeff, we have had a great experience using Rescue Me for our Great Pyrenees, Duke, he is truly a gentle giant. He is good with our other pyr we have had for 9 years that was on the noon time news wral channel 5. We have had 6 Pyrenees our first was Mokwaw and we have had a Pyrenees in our home since the 70's. We are going to enjoy having Duke in our home. My wife and I are both retired and have lot of time to groom and love our guys. The Ferch family we got Duke from was sad to see him leave but it was for the best for all concerned. They gave us information on Duke's health and a little information on his background. Duke has been with us just 6 days and has adopted us and is truly a love bug. He is very trustworthy and will enjoy our many walks around our neighborhood. Thank you for the service your team has provided and have given these gentle giants. thanks again to you and your team, Louis & Mariann Jacobs

Hello Jeff, We did in fact find Natti a new home with a wonderful couple from Toledo. They had lost their Great Pyrenees this past year due to bone cancer and after several emails and phone calls back and forth we decided that they were the best fit for our beautiful girl.I wanted to give her the perfect home like someone did for my St.bernard, Knox who has been a wonderful helper with her, who was a rescue that we adopted 4 years ago. I found this site to be wonderful! At first I was a bit skeptical about putting her on the Rescue Me! website thinking that no one would see the post but with in a hour I had 2 replies asking about her. Shes a great puppy and my family would love to keep her but were just not the right fit for her and she deserves to have a perfect home not one that she has to settle for.

Dear Jeff, Moby was adopted today, exactly 7 days after I rescued him. The new family did find Moby using your website. I preferred your website over Petfinder.com because your website allowed me to provide updates on Moby while I fostered him. The Petfinder.com website required me to delete the ad and enter a brand new listing if I wanted to make any changes to a listing. Thanks, Tracy

Jeff we did indeed find a home for Marty! As it turned out I had 3 calls regarding Marty all within one week. As I interviewed each prospective adopter it became clear to me that the people who are looking for pets to adopt and are using your site (RescueMe.Org) are very sincere and really want to become pet owner/caregivers. It was very hard to choose between the three prospects, however, I finally chose the one whom I thought would provide the best care, facilities and love for Marty. So far that has turned out to be the case, as I called the new owner today and he said Marty is adapting very quickly and seems to be happy in his new surroundings. As with any pet that has to adapt quickly to new surroundings it is wise for both the current owner and new owner to understand what it means to the pet for the them to have patience, understanding and love in a difficult time for all. In conclusion I will be making a donation to GreatPyreneesRescuMe.org very soon. -David

I am happy to say that Zeus has been adopted by a very nice couple. They have experience with the breed, live on a farm and fell in love instantly. They also live reasonably close by, so we can visit on occasion. Thank you for the Rescue Me web site and helping us to find a loving home for Zeus. Vickie Maxey

Jeff, We found a wonderful place for Bran. He's now working with other Great Pyrs at an alpaca farm. He seemed to slot himself right into the existing pack with no problems at all. Steve.

Thank you for an opportunity to respond. We have a happy ending to report! In our rural Tennessee neighborhood, a family once kept a herd of 130 goats. Dudley guarded them. The family fell on hard times - I don't know the whole story - and ended up selling the goats and abandoning their three Great Pyrenees. Another family member was supposed to take care of them but didn't make much of an effort. The dogs started wandering up the roads. One of them was shot. At that point my husband and I started taking the remaining dogs food and water. My husband is the son of a farmer and has extremely conservative views about entry on private land and 'messing with livestock.' I thought the situation was a case of necessity and could not bear to witness their suffering without trying to help. The family member asked if we could find a home for Dudley. I tried posting Dudley's pictures on Facebook, but nobody responded. Dudley's fairly huge, you know. Then I tried the Great Pyrenees rescue network. Eureka! A lady in nearby Murfreesboro answered that they were looking for a Great Pyrenees because theirs, Buddy, had died. They needed a dog with goat herding experience! But my husband worried about taking Dudley. Also about how to do the transfer. He pestered me into trying all possible phone numbers for other family members. Most said they had never heard of the dogs, or didn't want to be involved, or that we should do whatever we wanted to do. But finally, the night before, an elderly lady listened to our story. 'I'll make sure you have some help,' she told me. The next morning, the owner's brother was waiting at the old home site to help us load Dudley. Since Dudley knew him, everything went much more easily. To our surprise, the brother also showed up at the designated rendezvous site, the parking lot of a courthouse. For half an hour we waited nervously in the hot sun. My husband stood there holding the door open so Dudley could have ventilation. Dudley's new family arrived bearing a transport crate that used to belong to Buddy. Also a couple of treats to make friends. Last night, the daughter e-mailed me that Dudley likes the little creek that runs through the pen he now shares with his new herd of goats. In this particular story, everybody won. The new family is delighted to have Dudley. In their way, when the time came, the previous family did the best they could for him. My husband was right that it was a good idea to keep trying to get in touch with family members. I am happy and deeply grateful to Great Pyrenees rescue that we could find a placement. Most of all, now Dudley not only has a good home, but has returned to the duties for which he was trained, and which give him joy. They are a noble breed. -Rebecca

Trever was adopted by a wonderful family. He has acreage to run on and lots of love. I had several people reply to the posting. We chose the home we felt best met Trevor's needs. They even allowed us to call and check on Trevor for several weeks after the adoption. Thanks for all your help. Colleen

Jeff, After agonizing about having to give up our sweet Molly, my husband has agreed to have a large area enclosed with fencing for her to keep her from straying to a neighbor's house who might shoot her. Thank you so much for allowing me to post this on the site. I did get a very nice inquiry about her. Thank you very much! Chris
