     Thank you for finding Marma a loving home. The family that adopted her has 40 acres with pigmy goats, so she has plenty of room to run around. She will be loved and make a great companion to her new family. It eases my mind knowing she will be happy and get the attention she needs.

     Rescue Me! was a Godsend in re-homing our wonderful, Bubbie. It was with extremely heavy hearts that we had to come to the decision to re-home her and MANY tears were shed both in the decision process, and when the new owner called to say she had arrived in town and would be at our house in the morning! I literally hung up and sobbed uncontrollably - reality had hit! But in my heart, I knew this was the right thing. Connie, the new owner, was the first to contact us and we had many telephone and email conversations. She is a dog groomer, dog lover and just an amazing person over-all... Connie drove 8 hours, with her mother, to pick up Bubbie. She rented a car and even got a hotel close to our home. That, in and of itself, speaks volumes as to the desire to have Bubbie come into their lives. Thank you so much again for your wonderful service. I will recommend it to anyone facing the same, difficult decision!!!

     After Pearl had been spayed, her temperament changed drastically. She became a perfectly well adjusted working dog. She is still with me and I have been consistently working with her as a Service Dog and she is now one of the best I have ever seen. Spaying was the key to treating her aggressive nature and tempering that with love and patience, she is never going to have to go anywhere but right here with me.

     Thank you, Rescue Me! My father recently passed away from a very long fight with cancer. His beloved Great Pyrenees Thor was left behind. I was helping to settle my father's affairs but only had a short time before I had to go back to my home state. In desperation to find a home for Thor I turned to Rescue Me! and was very pleased to have so many inquires. Long story short we were able to locate a home for Thor in short order and he is very happy with his new family.

     Wonderful news... Maggie the Great Pyr with a great disposition has left the building today for her forever home with a very nice couple on a farm. :) Spayed too!!!!

     I had Bear since he was six weeks old. He is a member of my family. He started getting aggressive toward kids recently. I'm a daycare provider which was an uncomfortable situation for him. He would growl and snap at the kids. We decided it would be best to place him in a home with no kids. The day I placed an ad on Rescue Me! a very nice man contacted me about Bear. After talking we decided Bear would be a great addition to his family. I sent him all the pictures I had of Bear. He lives 3.5 hours away so we arranged for him, his wife, and 18 year old son to pick up Bear today. After meeting him and his family we knew that they would love Bear as much as we do. I could tell Bear really likes his new family. It broke our hearts to see him go but it made it easier knowing he was going to such a nice loving family.

     Blondie and her brother Homer showed up as strays at my gate on Christmas Eve 2011. After numerous and varied attempts to find her owner, it became pretty apparent they were dumped. I made some attempts to rehome them afterward, but had no success. So I decided to give them a home. Unfortunately, and for unknown reasons, they started fighting with my most senior dog who is my primary concern. So in the best interest of the pack, I decided to find them new homes. I only became aware of www.RescueMe.org a couple of weeks ago when I posted them for adoption. I had three people to contact me about her right away. She was adopted to a near perfect environment where she will have acres to roam with her new buddy Murphy, and a new family who seems to love dogs as much as I do. Thank you so much for adopting her, Margaret and family. And many, many, many thanks to www.RescueMe.org who brought everyone together. (By the way, her brother Homer is still looking for a great forever home and is listed in the Kentucky Great Pyrenees section!)

     I want to thank the creators of this website! It gave me a place to 'post' a found dog, in an attempt to find a previous owner. And when no owner was identified, it gave me lots of options to place this wonderful pup in a permanent home. We even considered keeping her ourselves she was so terrific! But she really needed to be outside and have a job, once she got her strength back! I had never met a Pyrenees before and I think we may be looking for one in the future. What a terrific temperament!      Today I took Jake to meet a prospective family after having some email contact with them. The family sounded perfect for Jake and lived with in easy driving distance from me.      Actually this dog was returned to it's original owner. She was lost then found by me....after several different attempts to find the owner I listed her on Rescue Me. In an attempt to find the dog the owner looked on Rescue Me and saw her dog and called me and her dog was gladly returned to her.

     I was heartbroken at the need to find a new home for my most special and beautiful girl, Bailey. I had her since she was a puppy, on my little farm in TN but sadly, life gets in the way of plans, and found myself having to give up the farm and move to the city. Bailey deserves way more than that. So I reached out to you fine folks at RescueMe !! She was well taken care of and happy, so she was better off than those sweet dogs you rescue from puppy mills and those that are dumped, but you treated Bailey's need for a home with just as much importance. I placed an ad for her to find new parents. Time went on, and I was concerned because I had very high mandates and expectations, and many people called me fitting some, but not all, and I thought I might have to lower my expectations. But I could NOT, for Bailey's sake. So, on my Birthday, the very day canceled transport for her, I got a call from her new mom and dad. Barb and Greg are everything I could have hoped for Bailey. They have always rescued dogs, and most recently had another greatly loved Great Pyr 'Poppy.' I wept and hugged Bailey for days, and worried about her the whole trip, but I got the tearful call this morning. Bailey had arrived in her new home state of Vermont. Mom and Dad were there, dog treats in hand, and they were greeted by a big wet kiss from Bailey. She is on their property now, safe and forever loved. Bailey and I , and Barb and Greg are so thankful that RescueMe was able to work for all of us. I cannot thank you enough. I will be forever grateful.      Jeff, we have had a great experience using Rescue Me for our Great Pyrenees, Duke, he is truly a gentle giant. He is good with our other pyr we have had for 9 years that was on the noon time news wral channel 5. We have had 6 Pyrenees our first was Mokwaw and we have had a Pyrenees in our home since the 70's. We are going to enjoy having Duke in our home. My wife and I are both retired and have lot of time to groom and love our guys. The Ferch family we got Duke from was sad to see him leave but it was for the best for all concerned. They gave us information on Duke's health and a little information on his background. Duke has been with us just 6 days and has adopted us and is truly a love bug. He is very trustworthy and will enjoy our many walks around our neighborhood.      Hello Jeff, We did in fact find Natti a new home with a wonderful couple from Toledo. They had lost their Great Pyrenees this past year due to bone cancer and after several emails and phone calls back and forth we decided that they were the best fit for our beautiful girl.I wanted to give her the perfect home like someone did for my St.bernard, Knox who has been a wonderful helper with her, who was a rescue that we adopted 4 years ago. I found this site to be wonderful! At first I was a bit skeptical about putting her on the Rescue Me! website thinking that no one would see the post but with in a hour I had 2 replies asking about her. Shes a great puppy and my family would love to keep her but were just not the right fit for her and she deserves to have a perfect home not one that she has to settle for.

     Jeff we did indeed find a home for Marty! As it turned out I had 3 calls regarding Marty all within one week. As I interviewed each prospective adopter it became clear to me that the people who are looking for pets to adopt and are using your site (RescueMe.Org) are very sincere and really want to become pet owner/caregivers. It was very hard to choose between the three prospects, however, I finally chose the one whom I thought would provide the best care, facilities and love for Marty. So far that has turned out to be the case, as I called the new owner today and he said Marty is adapting very quickly and seems to be happy in his new surroundings. As with any pet that has to adapt quickly to new surroundings it is wise for both the current owner and new owner to understand what it means to the pet for the them to have patience, understanding and love in a difficult time for all. In conclusion I will be making a donation to GreatPyreneesRescuMe.org very soon. -David

     Thank you for an opportunity to respond. We have a happy ending to report! In our rural Tennessee neighborhood, a family once kept a herd of 130 goats. Dudley guarded them. The family fell on hard times - I don't know the whole story - and ended up selling the goats and abandoning their three Great Pyrenees. Another family member was supposed to take care of them but didn't make much of an effort. The dogs started wandering up the roads. One of them was shot. At that point my husband and I started taking the remaining dogs food and water. My husband is the son of a farmer and has extremely conservative views about entry on private land and 'messing with livestock.' I thought the situation was a case of necessity and could not bear to witness their suffering without trying to help. The family member asked if we could find a home for Dudley. I tried posting Dudley's pictures on Facebook, but nobody responded. Dudley's fairly huge, you know. Then I tried the Great Pyrenees rescue network. Eureka! A lady in nearby Murfreesboro answered that they were looking for a Great Pyrenees because theirs, Buddy, had died. They needed a dog with goat herding experience! But my husband worried about taking Dudley. Also about how to do the transfer. He pestered me into trying all possible phone numbers for other family members. Most said they had never heard of the dogs, or didn't want to be involved, or that we should do whatever we wanted to do. But finally, the night before, an elderly lady listened to our story. 'I'll make sure you have some help,' she told me. The next morning, the owner's brother was waiting at the old home site to help us load Dudley. Since Dudley knew him, everything went much more easily. To our surprise, the brother also showed up at the designated rendezvous site, the parking lot of a courthouse. For half an hour we waited nervously in the hot sun. My husband stood there holding the door open so Dudley could have ventilation. Dudley's new family arrived bearing a transport crate that used to belong to Buddy. Also a couple of treats to make friends. Last night, the daughter e-mailed me that Dudley likes the little creek that runs through the pen he now shares with his new herd of goats. In this particular story, everybody won. The new family is delighted to have Dudley. In their way, when the time came, the previous family did the best they could for him. My husband was right that it was a good idea to keep trying to get in touch with family members. I am happy and deeply grateful to Great Pyrenees rescue that we could find a placement. Most of all, now Dudley not only has a good home, but has returned to the duties for which he was trained, and which give him joy. They are a noble breed. -Rebecca
