Rescue Me ID: 17-09-18-00299Shayla (female)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Young Adult

Hello nice to meet you my name is Shayla! I thought it was fun one day to try to cross a busy highway and some nice ladies stopped and picked me up just in the nick of time! They told me it was very dangerous for me to be out there! Luckily, they knew of a rescue group that can help me. They told me I was a very good girl and very well behaved in the car and that I would make someone very happy one day. So now I am just waiting in my foster home for my forever family! I am mellow and friendly just as Pyrenees should be! I love everyone! Please call or text 615-540-8448 for more pictures of me :-)

Akila is a 10 month old anatolian shepherd great pyrenees mix. She is spayed and up to date on shots. She came from an elderly couple from Rockport that had to evacuate due to the hurricane. They asked me to find a suitable home for her. My 3 male dogs hate her and she is very aggressive toward one of them but she loves my friends female German shepherd and they are always playing together. She loves to play in water and is good with a bath. I'm not sure if she's completely housebroken. She's ok if she's watched. We put her in the bathroom at night or if we have to go somewhere. Not sure how she is with cats or other animals but she loves ... (Read More)people. Contact me for more information. (Less)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

A friend rescued Otis when he was a small puppy. They gave him to my son who kept him on the farm. He was wonderful with the horses and cattle and got along well with visiting dogs. He was lonely so my son gave him to us. We had him neutered and vaccinated and sent his DNA to Embarkvet.com. That is how we learned he is 51% Great Pyrenees, 33% Rottweiler and smaller parts German Shepherd and Weimaraner. We also learned that against all odds he doesn't have the genetic markers for any of the diseases commonly found in these breeds. It predicted he would live until age 17!! I have never had such a loving dog and he loves everyone who ... (Read More)comes to our home. He isn't as active as i would have guessed when looking at those breeds but we do have a big yard and every once in a while he runs and jumps and runs in circles and plays. He really loves to play with other dogs. He is very attached to me and very, very loving. He isn't very interested in food and for a while I had to supplement his dry food with meat but he is adjusted to it now and his weight is very good. He weighs 75 lbs so he isn't as large as most Great Pyrenees or even Rottweilers. He wants to be petted and loved on for a few minutes before he will eat his food. I have to give him away for 2 reasons. His size and strength are really hard for me and he has become possessive of me when my standard poodle is around. He doesn't bite him but he begins to play so rough with him it is dangerous for my poodle. He can only go to a home where he will be allowed inside and get lots of love and affection. If you research Great Pyrenees, he has the same personality. He is very sensitive to my feelings and tone of voice. He coat is very easy to keep. It never gets matted or tangled and he likes to be brushed. We hired a trainer for him and she worked with him for 3 months. He knows lots of commands and learns quickly. He is a grand prize of a dog and I am very sorry to give him up but I know I need to. (Less)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Found male dog in rough shape. We are calling him Clyde. I am not sure on breed maybe a great pyrenees/lab mix. He was straving, has skin iirritation, and covered in fleas and ticks. looks like he was maybe hit by a car or something. Has problems with back legs, still walking. We are going to take him to the vet and get check out and medicine for fleas/ticks. Have 4 dogs already and can not keep. would like to find him a forever home. He is very sweet, loving and craves attention. He gets along well with my female dogs. Needs some house training work. dont think he has ever been inside before. Dont want to take to a shelter. Any help would ... (Read More)be great. Thank you! ****UPDATE**** We went to the vet yesterday morning and he was a good boy! Clyde is about 5-7 years old and 57 Pounds (he has gained about 20pounds! YAY!) No chip. His heart and lungs sound good and we are giving him oatmeal baths to help with his skin. Bravecto has been given to him and is good for 3 months, which should help his skin as well (if it does not improve then vet would like to give us antibiotics) Looks like his hips problems are due to his age, and we were prescribe pain pills as needed for it. He got dewormed and his rabies shot! So far no one has claimed him and I feel like he was just dumped'| Still looking for a forever home for this sweet boy! Any help would be great!! Thank you all!     I'm going through a divorce and will be moving from our 5 acres soon. I have 2 other dogs and can't keep KC because she is the largest of all. KC needs to be on property that she can roam and patrol. She could be part Great Pyranees and has the personality of a Pyranees. She sleeps in the house on a bed but likes to go out the dog door early in the morning to make sure everything is ok on the property. She has started to dig under the fence to wander but never goes far and always comes back. She has been with other dogs and cats and has never had any problems. She is a very sweet dog and will be missed.

Howdy howdy howdy. They call me Apollo but that was the name my old owners gave me. I'm a big ol' cuddle buddy who loves playing fetch and isn't afraid to cuddle and give kisses too. Look at my big tongue! Aren't I just the happiest fellow ever? I love wrestling with dogs too and my buddy Valiant and I just sit around and chew on our tennis balls when we get tired. He tries to take mine though and I like to hide his while chewing on my own. I do not like thunderstorms or fireworks at all and I strongly recommend keeping me inside during these things unless you want me to eat your fence or door. I get along with most dogs but because of my ... (Read More)size and how there are a few I don't like at MJ, it's recommended we do a meet and greet first.     Patches is a half GreatPyr/half Saint Bernard that is approximately 1-2 years old. He came to us from a high kill shelter in Texas. He is a great, fun loving, young boy that is very smart and very well mannered. He loves playing with smaller dogs and loves to play tug of war. He is very gentle with the smaller dogs. He has now been neutered and is current on all shots and is heartworm negative. He weighs approximately 85 pounds and is full grown. He also is a very good indicator for protection. That is the great Pyr in him. He will bark when someone approaches that he does not know, not to be mean but to let you know someone new is ... (Read More)around. If you are wanting a gorgeous, long haired fluffy boy, please give our Patches the opportunity to win your heart. In concern for families with small children, we will not adopt a dog to a home with any child under the age of 5. This is due to the large size of Saint Bernards and the safety of your children. Our Saint Bernards are not aggressive or mean in any way, they can just knock down children easily. If you would like to visit Patches, please contact St. Cloud's Rescue at www.stcloudsrescue.org or call 1-469-952-3332 or 1-972-679-5319. The first step in adopting from St. Cloud's Rescue is to complete an application. The application may be found OUR WEBSITE (not petfinder.com) at www.stcloudsrescue.org. Please click on the application process, complete and then email it or fax it to us at 1-469-952-3331. Once the application has been sent please call us to confirm that we have received it. St.Cloud's Rescue maintains the right to deny applications to anyone for any reason we see fit. St. Cloud Rescue is a non-profit 501-c-3 organization. St. Clouds Rescue requires new owners to purchase a one year supply of heartworm preventative from us, which is at cost. We require a home visit prior to all placements. There is a $150.00 donation fee. All dogs adopted through St Clouds Rescue must be indoor pets. St. Bernards cannot tolerate the extreme Texas weather conditions. (Less)
