Jackson is a wonderful, sweet boy. He has never met a stranger. He loves all dogs, cats, kids, it doesn't matter. He's a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix. He is almost the perfect dog except for one thing. He does have separation anxiety. If you are going to leave the house you'll need to gate him in a room where there are no TV remotes, cell phones etc. for him to chew on. He's the perfect gentleman as long as you're home. He will probably outgrow it in time and once he has the assurance that he is in his forever home and isn't going to be abandoned. If you would like to give Jax the home he deserves and want a great dog please ... (Read More)fill out an application (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-09-00829Rex and Harley (male)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rex (on the left) and Harley (on the right) are two sophisticated gentleman, approx 6 yrs old, that prefer to stay together. They are very bonded brothers. They are Great Pyrenees/Boxer. mixes, both neutered, up to date on vaccines and on monthly Advantix II. They are very sweet boys that have been outside their whole lives and are good with other dogs. Rex is laid back and easy going. Smiles all the time. Harley is the more dominant one of the two but very sweet. They will play with a Frisbee if you throw it for 2-3 throws, then they are ready to lay down and soak up being petted. But even though Harley acts like the dominant one of ... (Read More)them, the day we moved them, they were in crates in the vehicle. When we were taking them out to put them in the kennel we thought it would be easier to get Rex first and move Harley last since he moves faster than Rex. So we took Rex and and started out of the vehicle with him and we had to hold the crate shut because Harley was trying get back with Rex He was squealing (broke my heart) so once we had them out together he ran up to Rex. I think he thought we were taking Rex somewhere and leaving him behind. He is always at his brother's side and when they are separated it is traumatic for them both which is why we are looking for a home where they can both go together. The plus side to adopting them both is that they will have not only your family but also their brother to play with and love. Their adoption fee is for both as they need to stay together. Please consider opening your heart and home to them. (Less)

Excellent dog with family, very protective, very loving, sleeps on bed with us at night, wants to be with us when possible even outside. Big dog (86 lbs of solid muscle). Good on Leash. Good at Vet and Grooming. Problem: She was fine with the other two dogs for 3 years, then she turned Alpha and will kill one of the other dogs if she gets the chance. She has already done extensive damage to the other dog. Keeping them apart is getting harder because the other dog is terrified of her now, even scent. The other dog is not at fault but the one getting hurt. We all love her but I won't continue to risk the other dog or us getting bite while ... (Read More)trying to separates to two while fighting. Wife bitten twice already. We must take some action very soon. Better suited as only dog. Great with Cats. (We have 5) (Less)

Beauty is a caramel colored Great Pyrenees mix female who is about a year old who was left at an abandoned building in north Alabama. She had been hanging out there being fed by the neighbors for several months somehow avoiding being hit on the highway nearby. Beauty is a sweet and beautiful girl who weighs 83 pounds. Lucky for her, she has been in a foster home for several months now and is UTD on shots, spayed, microchipped, and has all needed vetting completed. She is heartworm negative and receiving monthly flea/tick and heartworm medications. She is house trained and loves other dogs, people of all ages and kids especially. She is ... (Read More)very gentle despite her size and really just wants to be with you and be loved! She will require grooming for her long coat. NOTE: She is immune to fencing - underground or above ground. She easily gets out of our 6' high kennel and leaps the 4' high chain link around the yard. She never goes further than the next-door neighbor's yard and gets her treat from the nice neighbor and hangs out with her while she is out in her yard! She needs a farm where she can go places at will and be able to enjoy running around without being fenced in...she does like to be inside during the heat of the day and at night, though! Please contact us about this girl by going to our website at HARTTRescue.org and filling out an application to email back to us. We work with transporters across the nation so we can get her to your location for an additional fee paid to the transporter themselves. (Less)
