Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed

A sweetheart who came to me in a litter I was fostering for Nashville Humane Association. Unfortunately, the litter had been exposed to Parvovirus and only Kelly survived. I adopted her, thinking she would be a spaniel sized dog, as the puppies were so small. Now she is developing into a big dog. Twenty pounds at age 2.5 months. I have a mature Golden and can't manage two big dogs. She will be a great addition to a family with kids.

Hi! My name is Tucker. I am a Lab/Pyrenees mix who is tall and lanky, but deep down inside I am convinced I am a lap dog. I like to love and cuddled more than being outside roaming and playing. I LOVE food! I have been neutered and am update date on my vaccinations, but when I was at the doctor they diagnosed me as having a shoulder that tends to slip out of place, which causes on me to limp around a lot. The vet said nothing inside is wrong except a lose joint, so I manage. My brother likes to play with me all the time, so maybe if I can get some long term rest, my shoulder will feel better. Did I mention that I like food? My table manners ... (Read More)aren't great because I am such a food hound. If food is left unattended, I can't fight the urge to help myself. Maybe you can help me with that! Right now I am sad because my owners were in a serious car accident and haven't been home to love on me. They tell me my owners can't take care of themselves now, so won't be able to care for me. This will be tough on me, but with the right owner and lots of love, I think I can manage. I like other pets and kids, but I do better with bigger kids who are comfortable around dogs. I am big, so a large large would be ideal for me to roam around it. (Less)

Hello, my name is Casper. I am a high energy dog who likes to spend time outdoors but come in for some periodic one on one time with my owner. I am a Lab/Pyrenees mix but I have a lot of Pyrenees behavior. I like to guard, protect and alert. I would make a great farm dog just as long as my new owner wants to have a close bond with me. Sadly, current owners have been in a serious car accident are will no longer be able to care for me , as they will be unable to care for themselves. I need a place that I can run and play while being loved, to help distract me from the loss of my family, whom I am quite bonded to. I live in a house with my ... (Read More)brother who's is also needing to be adopted. We could go as a pair, but if not I can adjust. I am the alpha of the two of us, and sometime pick in him. And although I am alpha around here, I can be timid sometimes. I have spent all my life around kids, but the littler ones scare me. I am more comfortable around adults and teenagers. I can do okay around cats once I get to know them. Although I can sit and stay and can learn quickly, I could also use some obidence training to reinforce my manners and social skills. I just really need someone who has room for me to play but is willing to spend good quality time with me. (Less)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

JAKE is an 8 year old Retriever/Great Pyr mix male who is bonded with 5 year old Great Pyr mix female Baby Girl. We are seeking a home where they can be adopted and stay together. We feel a home with a fenced yard would be best so that they can safely run and play together when outside. These two dogs ran together for years out in the country in NW TN and both may have been hit by cars in the past. A person concerned for their safety was finally able to get them into rescue and they are now in a foster home. Their foster says they are both very sweet and gentle and obviously look out for each other. They have been around children 8 ... (Read More)years and older and have done great. We feel they would also do well with younger kids because of their gentle nature. They live beside a school and calmly watch each day as the children come and go. Jake weighs around 58 pounds but he may gain some weight now that he is getting regular meals. He has been vetted, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Jake has not had an easy life. He has some scars and had to have some teeth extracted due to some broken and chipped teeth. He tested positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing the treatment needed to rid him of heartworm. He will complete that treatment in March and will be ready for adoption at that time. Jake is on the shy side, but gains confidence daily. He seems to enjoy learning and liked shaking paws with his foster the first day he arrived. He is house trained. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Jake and Baby Girl if it means they will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received. Fee will be reduced for adopting the bonded pair. (Less)

Hi, I'm Leon, I am a 3yr old purebred Pyrenees, a gentle giant with a golden personality. Basically a big furry ball of goofiness! I am up to date on all my shots and of course had the boy surgery too. I am house trained, love walks, love, love, love kids, but cats are strange to me. I am a big bundle of love who loves to hang out with you. I am good when I go on rides; kind of fill up the back seat. Oh yes, I know my name and I mostly sit on command. Do you have room for me? One side note...not sure about being asked to watch a herd or anything...a couch is good and yes those walks....

Great Pyrenees    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My partner Jon and I have a small farm in Joelton, TN and raise goats for dairy/meat. We also have a variety of other farming endeavors. We have two sibling Great Pyrenees LGDs - 'Sassy' and 'Jasper' - that we adopted in January 2016 when they were 6 weeks old. They live full-time with the livestock and are beautiful, loving animals who have brought so much joy to our lives. Recently, however, Sassy and Jasper have developed significant dislike for each other - 'sibling rivalry'. In addition, Jasper seems much more suited to be a house/general farm dog. When he is with Sassy and the livestock he is apt to misbehave and become ... (Read More)aggressive towards Sassy (and occasionally the livestock). Removed from the situation, he is a completely different dog. He is trained to walk on a lease and understands basic commands. He is friendly towards other dogs and really enjoys human interaction. He received his first immunizations as a puppy including rabies and was neutered at 8 months of age. He recently tested negative for heartworm and we use both herbal and chemical tick/flea/parasite prevention/treatment as indicated. He is fed a healthy grain-free diet with approximately 1/3 being raw deer meat. We are sad at this turn of events but very hopeful we can find him a good home where he can thrive as well as be helpful towards his new family. He is now approximately 85lbs and is expected to grow a bit more during adolescence. (Less)

I am very loving and enjoy being taken for walks but usually end up pulling you along:) our family has moved to a area where I can't run and play unattended and I would like to find a home where I can run without a lease 24/7. I am great with any age children and can handle having my fur pulled on or little kids jumping on me. I am very protective of my family at first but once I know your safe I am nice:) I love to play with dogs and cats or any kind of animal so far.

Shadow is a fully leashed trained purebred (not papered) Great Pyrenees. She currently resides with a female bully and a male rotti mix. She does great out in public and have not had any issues. She has no problems with taking a bath, being brushed, or taking treats. She grumbles with her nails being trimmed but has not offered to do anything but voice displeasure. She came to us as an emergency placement for a puppy mill being closed. Was training for herding dog but does not meet qualifications for it. Will make someone a great dog otherwise. Spayed and up to date on shots. Will only go to an approved home. Not housetrained.

Nute is a very sweet dog to my husband and I. He is very aggressive to other animals out side our home. He tolerates our two cats but is jealous. He is very aggressive to people other than my husband and I until we introduce him to them, and he may still nip at them after loving them. He needs surgery on both his knees because they pop out of place, it is not hip dysplasia, and he will have arthritis later in life from this problem. He is on Meloxicam and Tramadol pills for this condition. He has been microchipped but chip has not been registered. I can't afford to take care of him the way he needs to be taken care of.

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

They are sisters and have been together since birth. We went to adopt only one at the shelter and couldn't leave the other so we adopted them both. We recently have moved from a country setting where they had plenty of room to roam, run, and be free to a new home inside city limits where they are kept in our backyard which is a very small fenced in area. We just do not have the space for them to be happy animals anymore. We have two sons and they are amazing with them. Our 3 year old is constantly pulling on their tails, ears, and such and all they do is lick and get still get excited every time he steps out the back door. We also have a ... (Read More)small dog and they are wonderful with her. She barks and growls at them all the time and they have never growled back. in our old house they were always around other neighborhood dogs and never once had a problem they would run and play. They do bark when anyone or anything comes into the yard that they do not see on a daily basis. These girls are some of the sweetest dogs that I have ever had the pleasure to own and we hate to have to find them a new home but we do think it would be best for them and for us. They are always happy and always happy to see you. They have never been aggressive to any strangers, kids, adults, or other animals. Socks has more of the Great Pyrenees in her than Macy who is built more like a lab. Socks is the one with white feet and a white chest. Macy is a little smaller with just a little bit of white on her chest. We were hoping they could stay together but completely understand that that may not be an option. We just want to make sure that they find a good home with people who will love them like we have!! (Less)
