Rescue Me ID: 16-02-10-00392Max 2 (male)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Max is a loving, playful boy who clearly has a love of life. He is a solid white Great Pyrenees dog who exhibits the beautiful long white coat, correct head, and powerful body that characterizes the breed. He is 12 months old and so still a puppy, but his energy level and activity is settling down nicely. Good thing, because he is 85 pounds and still growing! Although Max still wants to pull at the leash at the beginning of a walk, he is clearly a fast learner because he shows great improvement by the end of each walk. In addition to being handsome, you can clearly see the joy Max experiences in everything, from playing tug-of-war with his ... (Read More)rope toy, to figuring out spin-the-soda-bottle-to-get-treats, to drinking from the stream of water tumbling out of a garden hose (it's much better than way than simply drinking out of the bucket). In between walks and playtimes, Max enjoys sleeping in the sun and just chillin' in general. In fact, the veterinarian who performed his neutering (and gave him his shots and started him on heartworm prevention) commented on what a laid back dog Max was. Really? Under those circumstances? Wow! Max has lived with two families so far and is looking forward to his forever home. His first family had kids, other dogs, chickens and goats, and they all got along just fine. They only had to give him up when Mom realized she needed to homeschool one of her children and so could not devote the time to Max that he needed. His second family had the same assortment of animals with the addition of cats and turkeys. Max found these latter two just too exciting and tempting and so needs a home with no cats and probably no poultry of any kind. They just look like too much fun to play with. Max needs a home with no cats, and no livestock. He can be possessive of food and treats. Adoption fee is $225 Adoption application can be filled out at www.fchsnc.org/adoptable-dogs Questions can be emailed to fchsjess@gmail.com (Less)
