Rescue Me ID: 15-07-23-00666Buster (male)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please read this whole text. This is a beautiful male puppy who will be 13 weeks on Saturday. Buster is the cutest pup, at times very chilled out and at times very playful. We've only had him for one week, and we miscalculated our own time and abilities in training and raising an Anatolian - human problems (health) not dog problems. For his sake, we want him to have the home he deserves. When we got him he had spent 4 weeks on a farm in a goat pen with 2 goats, with access to the chicken house and horse pen. He also had interacted with other dogs and children. He had mauled 2 chickens, so his owners had to sell him. When we brought him home ... (Read More)he had never been inside a house, he had never seen a toy much less played with one, and he thought he had to fight for his food. We have had lots of success the week we've had him with the food aggression, have him part-way potty trained (he has stayed dry for the last 4 nights, but he still has a couple of accidents a day), and we are working on sit, stay, and come. He wants to play with our cats, but our cats hate him. His name for a month was Nigel but he didn't know it. We changed it to Buster, and he has started to respond to that. His mother was half Pyranese and half Anatolian Shepherd, and his father was full Anatolian. Please research the breed online before calling or emailing. There are lots of pros to having a giant breed dog, and also lots of cons. They need to protect a herd, and that can be a herd of animals or a herd of family. They require a 6 foot fence or a farm. They are loyal, and smart. This pup is smart and willful. Being free as a younger pup, he still at times wants to assert his will, but our leash training has been really good. He is a chewer. The vet said when he loses his baby teeth at 4 or 5 months the chewing will calm down, but even as an adult, a bored Anatolian is a destructive Anatolian. To have this pet, you need to have lots of experience training large dogs or have owned an Anatolian in the past. Do not contact me otherwise. I owe it to this pup to find him an appropriate home. Rescue Me ID: 15-07-23-00403Jack (male)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Very loving dog but gets very anxious with new situations. Very playful and happy. He needs a place that is stable and has room for him to protect his area. Needs room to run and roam. He barks at anything that is out of place but really isn't a nuisance, he is just a typical Anatolian. It may take him awhile to adjust to new owners. He is skeptical of meeting new people. He is primarily an indoor dog and does have a large crate that he rarely uses.

I am a 10 month old purebred Great Pyrenees. I have been with my family since I was 8 weeks old. My boy Tanner is frightened of big dogs and even though I am gentle and want to play with him he is too scared to spend time with me. So I need to find another wonderful family that would love to have me to play with, run with, play with my toys! Bonus, I will also guard you, other pets and your home! I am very healthy, my mom has taken me for all my appointments(physical just a few weeks ago) and I am currently on monthly preventive heartworm medication. As you can see in my picture I am not as fluffy as most Pyre's, but that is ok my hair will ... Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

My name is Petra and I will need to be adopted with my brother, Bean, who I've been raised with. I am a healthy Great Pyrenees with no health issues. I get really scared in thunderstorms and around fireworks/gunshots. I am very crafty at escaping from lots of places. My current house in my owners barn has 8 foot tall walls because I am a skilled climber. If I could sleep at night inside my owners house, I would be most happy because I feel safe there. I have grown up on a farm and would love another farm. I play with chickens and goats and am very protective of children and the other people I live with. I am mostly pretty obedient but must ... (Read More)admit I do have a stubborn streak. I love playing in creeks and wrestling with my brother. My current owners are moving to Florida where I would be MISERABLE! So I need a new home by the end of July!! Yikes. Please contact my owners to schedule a time to come meet me and my brother. I would love to meet you. (Less)

My name is Bean and I will need to be adopted with my sister Petra who I've been raised with. I get very depressed when she spends a lot of time away from me. I am a healthy Great Pyrenees with the onset of hip dysplasia. I currently take 1 glucosamine pill every day (which my owners buy over the counter for humans) every day and then I have no issues at all with it. I have grown up on a farm and would love another farm. I am a calm, mild mannered and very obedient boy and I like to be near my owners and other animals. Rescue Me ID: 15-05-18-00534Marley (male)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

THIS SITUATION HAS BECOME EXTREMELY URGENT - I AM GOING TO HAVE HIM TAKEN BY THE POUND WHERE HE WILL LIKELY BE PUT DOWN - Dear Marley has begun to do something he's never done before....he's chewed 2 holes in my wall!! I rent & now have to fix this out of my own pocket. I know it's not his fault, he's just NOT meant to be an indoor breed! He has 2-3 days here at best, if ANYONE is interested!!! Marley is going to be a year old - approximately about last week of May to June 5th - he is a big friendly boy. Definitely needs some running room, or a fenced yard, as he has gotten loose on us a few times. (Our fence isn't very tall) He has a VERY ... (Read More)friendly temperament, is excellent with children, (we have 2 toddlers in the house, he's never been bothered by them) is very smart, but needs someone to work with him...I'm not in the best of health & he's just too much dog for me. He's had ALL his puppy shots, but needs his adult shots plus rabies. Has been wormed numerous times as a puppy. He is mostly potty trained, so long as he's taken out regularly. He usually will stand by the front door to alert that he needs to go outside. This photo is not the best....he is normally much fluffier & hairier than this photo shows, but he had just been brushed & groomed. This dog loves deeply. (Less)
