Rescue Me ID: 13-04-26-00345Dallas (male)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

First off I want to start by saying that Dallas is not aggressive randomly. He has food aggression that includes his food, food that's dropped on the floor, something that had food on it, and food bowls. He is the sweetest most loving dog other wise. All he wants is to be by your side and be loved on.%A0About a month ago when we first brought Dallas home he displayed some food aggression. He got into a squabble with our other dog over some food I dropped on the floor from cooking. Also my 4 year old son dropped the plastic from his lunchable on the ground. Dallas had taken some interest to it but there wasn't any food in it. I should have ... (Read More)thought better but I didn't. I went to reach down and pick the plastic up and Dallas bit me on the hand, then on the calf, the thigh, and then the back of my arm. He didn't break the skin I just have some bruises. Here we are now with a dog that will bite if provoked and a 4 year old son. I have contacted multiple trainers that say that the behavior is highly fixable but there are no guarantees that he won't act out ever again. That is why I list Dallas as no children. He is wonderful with my little boy but I cannot guarantee that my son won't make the same mistake I did and his face is at the same level as Dallas' mouth. He is such a good dog. He just needs a strong leader as an owner. If there is a man out there without kids that just wants the company of a dog and can handle the issues that Dallas has this is the dog for you. He knows sit, lay down, stay, wait, and we're working on leave it. For a Great Pyrenees he really is easy to train. He is also 100% potty trained. I have not had one accident in the house. He has free roam of the house during the day and does great. I wish I had requested a temperament evaluation be done before he came home with us but it is what it is now and I am trying to do the right thing and keep Dallas out of the shelter. (Less)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Puppy

These 2 wonderful dogs are in dire need of a place to live ASAP. There are 2, the male is 4 1/2 years old, the female is one of his pups, and she is 1 1/2 years old. They are very bonded with each other but according to the current owner, they could be separated. These dogs are both very gentle and good natured.

Luke was born June 12, 2010. His mom was a St. Bernard/Great Pyrenese and his dad is pure Bernese Mt. Dog. Both parents were on site when we picked him up from the breeder. He is 115 pounds and current on his shots. We need to find him a home because he is a fence jumper. I would prefer for him to be either at a home with a privacy fence or a home with land. ****He's never shown any signs of aggression...but we've recently be notified by the home that he tried...and he bit a kid when he was pulled by his collar. Has never shown any aggresion before that...please call me to talk about him...I think that once he's settled in somewhere he will ... (Read More)be a very loving pet! (Less)
