Rescue Me ID: 16-06-16-00418Sitka (male)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Malnourished,

We found Sitka roaming in the streets and took him to the Humane Society in hopes that their owners would find him and they could be reunited once more. Sadly, no one called to claim him and we were told that he would be euthanized unless adopted. We are currently fostering him in hopes of finding him a good home with a loving and caring owner. My family and I own three big dogs and because we already have these pets, we don't have enough space to keep Sitka. He's about 2 yrs. old, not potty trained or house broken doesn't know basic commands, never the less he has made great progress through training and repetition in only three days of ... (Read More)being in our care. He is learning commands such as sit, come, as well as recognizing his name. He was probably chained by previous owner and was by himself and neglected. Little by little he has been introduced to our 3 large dogs but still shows some traces of dominance, after being neutered testosterone will be wearing down in about two-three weeks. We've walked them together and it seems to be responding good to the pack therapy, they lay down side by side after their walk learning to share and become part of the pack. We believe that with time and patience he will become part of a pack, no signs of aggressiveness toward people we encountered on our long daily walks, but when at home he has let the world know that he is around and has shown great sense of protection to those who protect him. This gentle giant loves to be petted and acknowledged. He is definitely looking to have a connection with someone who will love him and give him a sense of belonging. (Less)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant

Tellie is an incredible dog! She is beautiful and intelligent and loyal. She likes patrolling the yard, but when people are home, she likes to be with them. She is potty trained and does not get on furniture, but enjoys her big pillow bed. She loves short walks and just hanging out with the family. She is low maintenance and very good natured with adults. She must go to a home that will let her roam indoors and outdoors.

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bella is a wonderful spayed female dog. Very easy going, gets along with everyone once she lets you know her job is to bark at you, lol. Very skittish with newcomers. Housebroken (outgrown the dog door) but will let you know she needs out by going to the door or coming to you and lightly nudging you. Has free reign in the house, no chewing or biting. Loves to lay on her loveseat and sometimes she drools on it. Loves to go for walks and lay on the bed with you and watch TV. She can bark at the moon if you leave her out to long at night. Will only adopt to a loving home who will allow her inside and outside. She is used to being with people ... (Read More)inside and probably is inside 60% of the day and all night. (Less)
