Hi. My name is Kaleb. I am a 10 month old Great Pyrenees mix. I am from Kentucky, but now I live with a foster family in Illinois. They have two other dogs for me to play with and they even brought my sister, Kynlee, home with them to stay too! I weigh 60 pounds and am still growing! My foster mom says I am a gentle boy who loves to cuddle. But sometimes I don't sit still for very long. I like to walk around and see what everyone else is up to. I am house broken and crate trained. I do very well in my crate and I sleep in there through the night. My foster mom says I am a chewer, but she puts a lot of toys throughout the house ... (Read More)that I can chew. She says I am not aloud to chew the socks that I find. I also like to sneak my toys outside sometimes and hide them. But my foster mom has extras so I always have something to chew in the house. I also love to play tug with a rope with the other dogs or with a human. Meet Kaleb! Great Pyr/ Lab Mix 10 months old I get along well with other dogs, but I don't know how I would act if I saw a kitty. I love walks! My foster mom says I walk very well on a leash. I like to stay very close to whomever is walking me so I will usually walk against their leg. I also love treats! My foster family tries to tell me to sit before they give me a treat, but I don't always understand it. I am getting better though. I love to be next to people. I love to curl up on the couch or lay by their feet. My foster home also has three children ages 5-12 and I am very gentle with them. Also, I am a big fan of belly rubs!! Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.     Meet Bear! Bear is a stunning 4 year old Great Pyrenees that was rescued from a KY Shelter in February. Since being rescued Bear has been amazing . He is being fostered in a home with other dogs where everyone peacefully co-habitats. Bear for the most part doesn't interact with the other dogs. Recently he has initiated play with two dogs, both female. Bear is also being fostered with cats, they love rubbing up against his beautiful coat, which he enjoys getting brushed daily. Bear loves being around his foster family, he loves attention, and will rub up against you when he feels he needs some love. In public, he is good with strangers, ... (Read More)almost aloof. Bear is very protective of his home and yard, and he is working on tolerating strangers when they come over. Bear is not the dog for the novice dog owner. He will need a family that has experience with the Great Pyrenees. Bear's adoptive home mush have a fenced in yard. He likes to bark outside when patrolling the yard, so a single family home is a must. Bear is great on a leash, loves to go for walks (he doesn't bark on his walks, not even at other dogs), and car rides (compact cars won't work for Bear either). He is housebroken, and sleeps in his crate quietly at night. Because of Bear's size, he won't be adopted into a home with small children. Bear has been though heartworm treatment, and will need to be retested for heartworm in December (this is included in his adoption fee). It was a very painful treatment, but Bear has come through it like a true survivor. His rear dew claws had to be removed because the nails were embedded in his pads of his feet, and severely infected. Bear has made an amazing transformation, inside and out. Less than a year ago he was a lonely dog on a chain, dying for love and medical care. Today he is a healthy, beautiful, much beloved foster dog, that will make a wonderful addition to the right family. Bear's foster family is in no rush to say goodbye to Bear, and are willing to wait for the PERFECT FIT. Here is a short video of Bear playing (or attempting to) with a toy for the first time. https://www.facebook.com/debra.hensleymallers/videos/vb.1229381494/10207447265439687/?type=3&theater Bear's adoption fee is $400. This fee includes all of his medical treatment, including his neuter, microchip, heartworm treatment, monthly heartworm preventative , monthly flea and tick medicine and dewormer. His adoption fee with also include an in Home Consultation with a Sound Beginning Trainer to help Bear integrate into his forever family.
