Rescue Me ID: 18-05-15-00523Thaddeus (male)
Thaddeus is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees guy that wants to spend his senior years with a loving family. Here are 11 things that Thad wants his perfect people to know about him: 1. I was found on the side of the road. The nice people that stopped for me thought I had been hit by a car, but that wasn't it. I had just been walking for a very long time, which had made my arthritis hurt pretty bad! 2. Since I've been in rescue, my life has changed for the better. I've gained some much needed weight and the new anti-inflammatory medicine my foster mom gives me every day makes me feel like a pup again. 3. I also got a new hairdo! Because I had been homeless for so long, my coat was really dirty and matted, and there were lots of ticks and fleas hiding in all that fur. Although the nice people tried to wash and brush me, they soon realized that I really just needed a fresh start. The next thing I knew, I had a new haircut (and almost no hair left)! 4. Even though the trim was a vast improvement, it caused another complication. You see, I started feeling super excited about how great my new life was, and I would wag my tail ALL the time. Sometimes I would wag my tail while I was standing really close to a wall, and without all the furry padding that I was used to, I ended up with 'happy tail.' My foster mom tried lots of things to fix it, but the veterinarian decided it was better to dock my tail than to risk an infection. So now I'm the proud owner of a 'nub!' 5. Because I've been on the mend for most of the time I've been in rescue, I haven't had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with other dogs. However, I've liked all the dogs I've seen or met briefly, no matter their size. 6. I see lots of cats around the neighborhood, and I really don't have much interest in them. 7. Like most Great Pyrenees, I can be protective of my space when strangers approach. However, when I'm out and about, I love all people and I'm very affectionate and gentle. 8. I haven't been around children since I've been in rescue, but I think it would be okay if my new home had kids, as long as they aren't very young or rambunctious. 9. I enjoy spending time with my people, going for slow walks, and, of course, eating! 10. I am wonderful on a leash, and know how to sit. 11. I am current on vaccinations, neutered, HW- and microchipped. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ready to give Thaddeus the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab. We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a 'perfect placement' so we know that they will not be failed again. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-21-00036Chewie (male)
Chewie is an amazing dog. He was rescued and will need additional work on house training. Chewie knows some basic commands such as sit and shake. He's very smart. Gorgeous dog.... just wants to be loved. He can react to other dominant intact males, but has not ever attacked another dog... he just growls and barks. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to learn more about this amazing boy!

Bosco is a healthy3 year old great Pyrenees whom we rescued 2 years ago. He was underweight, untrained and had never been to a vet. We have worked extensively with him to help him acclimate to being a good family dog. He has come a long way. However he is still not a good fit for our family as groups of children make him nervous and he becomes overly excited and on occasion territorial. I operate an art studio/art school from our home and it is a constant piece of management to keep him separated from my students as he does not tolerate seeing them inside even through the window. I would definitely not describe him as vicious but I am concerned that he could hurt someone accidentally. He is good with our small dog and our cats are his best friends. He is gentle to our chickens and herds toward the coop them if they go too far out in the yard. We love him very much and will only let him go to a loving home or farm where he can live happily. Thor is the sweetest guy who has had the toughest time. He is 1 year old Great Pyrenees. He was hit by a car a couple of weeks before he came into our care. Both of his left legs were badly injured. He has had 2 surgeries to place (& adjust) a pin in his back leg. Thor has been released from medical care. He is healed and ready for his forever home. His foster family says he is very gentle and lovable. He is fully vetted. If you are interested in adopting him, please complete our application at hartcountyanimalrescue.org.

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-06-00211Rachel (female)
UPDATE: ** Rachel's brother was adopted and the adopter did a DNA test on him. Here is the breed breakdown: American Staffordshire Terrier 37%, Boxer 12.5%, Standard Bulldog 12.5%, German Shepherd 12.5%, Great Pyrenees 12.5%, and mixed Breeds 12.5%. **Meet RACHEL! Rachel is about ten months to a year old. This sweet girl and her brother, Petey, were abandoned when she got pregnant in the middle of a rural road. Rescue saved them and spayed and neutered them and had them completely vetted. Rachel is very good with other dogs, house trained, and do pretty good on a leash as well. Rachel has sufficient Walker Hound in her so that she can climb small fences, so a privacy fence is a must. Both really just want to be lap dogs and love to lick you all over your face. They are mostly labrador retriever as they absolutely LOVE THE WATER! We suspect they may have a bit of fox hound and possibly some german shepherd in the mix as well. They are 100% sweetness overload and would make perfect family pets as they adore children. To apply to adopt, go to brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.weebly.com (Less)
