Rescue Me ID: 15-04-19-00159Bullseye (female)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Bullseye is a full blooded Great Pyrenees, no papers but was born on my farm and I own her parents and brother 'Maximus' (also listed on RescueMe). She was a part of a litter of 11. I have found homes for all others but these two- it has been two years and they became a part of my family (there are six total Pyrs on my farm). I love these dogs very much, and there is only one reason I am finding a more suitable home for them. Bullseye and her brother are escape artists- they will bust through the smallest hole in a fence and will also climb. Bullseye is the leader of the two, Maximus follows her anywhere. If they get away, they will roam for ... (Read More)miles. So, to keep my pets on my property where they are safe- I keep these two in an outdoor pin that is wired down heavily. They have a large water bin, straw put down on the concrete, and are allowed to run for up to 30 minutes a day. I ride alongside them while they roam my nine acre property on a golf cart to ensure they don't escape. They understand this process and have grown used to living outdoors together. Bullseye is very attentive and loving. She never wants to leave your side when she is with you, and always loves to cuddle. Bullseye can get hyper if not corrected, but she adjusts well to different peoples attitude and vibe. I've never kept these dogs inside, so they are not housetrained or crate trained. Both know to sit for treats, and listen well when scolded for bad behavior. Bullseye is good on a leash if she is given adjustments to her gate (she tends to stride, and then tries to run, but remembers that she is leashed and comes back to you). Easily correctable in all behaviors. She tends to be a bit possessive over her food, but only with other dogs- not humans. I have corrected her from this before, and she backed down immediately. Bullseye would love to be in a home with her brother, but I would not oppose to them finding seperate homes if it were the right fit. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-19-00109Maximus (male)

Great Pyrenees    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Maxi is a full blooded Great Pyrenees, no papers but was born on my farm and I own his parents and sister 'Bullseye'. He was a part of a litter of 11. I have found homes for all others but these two- it has been two years and they became a part of my family (there are six total Pyrs on my farm). I love these dogs very much, and there is only one reason I am finding a more suitable home for them. I ride alongside them while they roam my nine acre property on a golf cart to ensure they don't escape. They understand this process and have grown used to living outdoors together. Maxi is a big sweet boy- he can be submissive at times, and others he just bumbles around being his goofy self. He loves his sister very much, they have never been seperated. He gets along with my males when Bullseye is not with him, but he seems to become protective when she is there. I've never kept these dogs inside, so they are not housetrained or crate trained. Both know to sit for treats, and listen well when scolded for bad behavior. Maximus is working on being leash trained- he submits to me when on leash, but sometimes gets ahead of me. Easily correctable. Max would love to be with his sister, but I would not oppose to them finding seperate homes if it were the right fit. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-02-00565Bear (male)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

3 year old active boy turned in with brother due to divorce. Dogs were stated as being to much for wife to handle alone. Bear was accustomed to being outside with lots of acreage. Bear is stressed by the confinement of the kennel run. When outside in the fenced activity areas, he appears in need of something to do. The shelter environment is very difficult for him and he grows more stressed each day by the restrictive space and activity. Bear would at times get into a scuffle with his brother so he is not put outside with any other dogs. He is fine with dogs running alongside him on opposite side of fenced areas. Staff feel that he would be ... (Read More)fine once he is away from the shelter. He arrived at the shelter on 17 Jan 2015.
